The BSD School Board will be selecting a new superintendent to lead our district. Superintendent Gustavo Balderas will be leaving the district in 2026. We want to thank him for his years of service and dedication to our district's staff and students.
Choosing a new superintendent is the most important responsibility that the Beaverton School Board has. The board has hired an outside consultant, Human Capital Enterprises, to facilitate the nationwide search. There’ll be numerous opportunities throughout the coming months for staff, students, parents and community members to share what qualities they'd like to see in our next superintendent.

Applications from candidates are being accepted now.
The district is seeking a superintendent who embodies the qualities and characteristics listed in the Next Superintendent Criteria (below), which were approved by the school board on December 9. Human Capital Enterprises announced the vacancy to more than 40,000 educational leaders nationally and internationally on December 12. The application is now live and will remain open until end of business on January 14.
