ACMA Relocation Plan
For the 2018-2019 school year ACMA will be right here where we have always been!
Architects are working on the plans for our new campus, staff and students are offering input as to what they’d like to see in our new building, and administration is collaborating with our Bond Team and architects to finalize plans for a great new space (that will open in the fall of 2021).
2018-2019 School Year
We will remain in our current building until after graduation in 2019. During the year we’ll be preparing for the move, organizing logistics, taking photos of the plentiful student artwork on the walls that won’t be able to be moved, and organizing some celebrations of ACMA’s current home (including the opening of a time capsule from CE Mason Elementary). 2018-2019 will be a year of celebration, saying goodbye to our current home, and preparing for a new adventure just a few miles up the road.
Summer of 2019
The move! We’ll load up trucks with boxes of brushes, tap shoes, cameras, clay, notebooks, novels, test tubes, and all the odds and ends we need to take with us and drive eleven minutes north to the yet to be opened Timberland Middle School. It’s a big space, and we’ll make it our own for the two school years we’ll be there. Work will begin on demolition and construction at our current site, where the performing arts center (PAC) will remain untouched, but the current building and portables will be razed to make room for the construction of a beautiful new ACMA.
2019-2020 School Year
We open the school year in our temporary home. It is a nice facility with more than enough room for all of our ACMA classes. As we get closer to moving to Timberland, we will post information, photos, and more.
2020-2021 School Year
This will be our second and final school year at Timberland, and throughout the year we will be preparing to return to our new building located on the site of the current ACMA, adjacent to our performing arts center.
Fall of 2021
We return home to our familiar location on Center Street and begin to create art in a building designed to support the wild creativity, strong academics, and artistic spirit of our amazing school community!
