Dear Student and Parent(s)—

There are several important dates and guidelines to keep in mind as AP testing approaches in May. AP examinations start Monday May 7th.

Registration for the AP Exams will be from Monday Feb. 26th starting at 8am until Friday March 9th at 4:30pm. Please note: The book keeper is closed from 10 to 10:45am. Please make your check out to Beaverton High School and turn into the book keeper, Mrs. Boyd—next to the front office. The cost is $75 per exam. If a student needs to take a late exam there is an additional $45 fee. A registration form will be available by Feb. 21st from any AP teacher or use link to registration form on this page.

If you qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch and are interested in applying for a test fee-reduction, please bring your Free and Reduced Lunch approval letter from Nutrition Services when you register for an exam. Reduced fee tests are free. A student who cancels or does not show for their test will be charged a flat fee of $20. {To receive a confirmation letter that you are eligible for free or reduced price meals send an email to or call 503-356-3957 (Spanish line 503-356-3961). Please provide the student’s name, ID number and contact information.}

This year, we will be in four locations for AP testing (BHS, Southridge, Aloha and Mountainside). Please be aware of where you are taking an exam. If there is a conflict with a location, students will need to take a late exam. We will have busses to and from the AP exams.

Thank you!

A Different Kind of Class

From the moment you enter an AP classroom, you'll notice the difference—in the teacher's approach to the subject, in the attitude of your classmates, in the way you start to think. You'll engage in intense discussions, solve problems collaboratively, learn to write clearly and persuasively and respond to university level questions.

Prepare to Succeed in College

Most four-year colleges in the United States and colleges in more than 60 other countries give students credit, advanced placement or both on the basis of AP Exam scores. AP and the Cost of College

Research shows that your AP experience can benefit you in several important ways when you reach college:

  • AP students are more likely to graduate from college in four years - students who take longer to graduate at public colleges and universities can spend up to $19,000(1) for each additional year.
  • AP helps students qualify for scholarships - 31 percent of colleges and universities look at AP experience when determining scholarships.(2)
