PBIS is Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. This schoolwide behavior support program is explicitly taught to all students, in all areas of our school. Behavior expectations for classrooms, halls, the gym, the cafe, etc are posted, taught, and used to remind children of the three key traits of positive citizenship: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.
We use Mustang Awards to recognize students who are doing the right thing even when they think no one is watching. Students take one part of the Mustang Award home to show their family, and the other part is dropped into the Mustang Bin in the office. Each week, we pull random awards from the bin and announce the names at our morning assembly. We love to celebrate the good choices that students make!
Each month, we highlight a character trait that lends itself to helping students act Safely, Respectfully, and Responsibly. See the dates below for our Spirit Days - days that students can celebrate their character development.
