Thank you for your interest in Career Encounters at PCC! Career Encounters is a joint partnership between PCC and the Beaverton School District. This class allows juniors and seniors to get hands-on career experience in high-demand, high-wage careers. Students earn both high school Applied Arts (.5) credits and PCC (2) credits. All tuition, fees, and equipment are paid for by the Beaverton School District.

There is one section of the Career Encounters course that will be available for the Spring of 2018:
- Transportation Trades (7th Period)
Note: Construction Trades and Professional Arts will be offered again in the Fall.
To be eligible, students must be a junior or senior enrolled in one of BSD's comprehensive high schools or Community School at Merlo Station. Students must be eligible for Early Release and have Early Release for 7th period. Classes meet twice a week. Classes do not meet on Fridays. Students have Early Release on Fridays. A student must also be commited, have a history of good attendance and be self-motivated in order to do well in either of these courses.
Prior to the start of the term, there are two orientation sessions that are required to complete the PCC registration:

Classes run from 1:30 to 3:30pm. Once every 2 weeks, students will stay 1 hour later (1:30-4:30) to do career research in the current career focus area with a PCC College Guidance instructor.
If you have previously attended a Career Encounter or PCC course, please download and print the Career Encounters Permission Form and bring it to the first orientation session.
