I have been involved in education for over 13 years. I completed my Bachelors degree at the University of California, Riverside, and later obtained my Masters in Teaching degree from George Fox University. Currently, I am continuing school administration courses in order to further my education through Portland State University.
My career in education began here in Beaverton where I taught 7th grade science. Following that, I was Assistant Principal at Health and Science School before becoming Principal at Highland Park Middle School. I have a strong passion for both STEAM education, and for the middle school years. I believe in the unlimited potential of each of our students to learn and accomplish greatness.
Outside of school, I enjoy maintaining my physical health through exercise, cooking new dishes (unfortunately none very well!), reading historical fictions or suspense novels, and spending time with my loved ones. I also have a 2 year old lab mix who thinks she is a perpetual puppy!
I am very excited to be part of the Highland Community. Together, we will make a positive difference in the lives of all of our students!
It has been an honor to serve as Highland’s vice principal for three years. My teaching career started in Canby as a middle school math and language arts teacher. I also spent six years in the Hillsboro School District teaching middle school language arts, reading intervention, and coached girls varsity tennis. My first administrative job was serving as AP in the Reynolds School District. I studied journalism at the University of Oregon and earned my masters at Pacific University. I am currently taking graduate courses at Concordia University to continue expanding my knowledge in education and administration. I was born and raised in Oregon, and my husband and I are raising our daughter in the wonderful community of Beaverton. We are an active family that enjoys time with loved ones, the outdoors, and traveling.
Highland Park is a school filled with talented and compassionate staff. We come to work eager to serve our students and families every day. Please reach out to us or come visit our school. It truly is a special place.
I am a native Oregonian. I love the outdoors and spending time with my 5-year-old daughter, Victoria. Though my parents were teachers, I never thought I would grow so passionate about education. To me, the best thing about my job is the feeling that I am making a difference in the lives of students.
After graduating from Pacific University I traveled to Mexico to teach and live for four years. Coming back to the Portland area, I began working in Portland Public and then in Woodburn School District. I am very excited to be joining the team at Highland Park and look forward to opportunities to make a positive impact on the lives of the students and the community!
