I have been involved in education for over 15 years. I completed my Bachelors degree at the University of California, Riverside, and later obtained my Masters in Teaching degree from George Fox University.

My career in education began here in Beaverton where I taught 7th grade science.  Middle schools have always been my passion for teaching and learning!  Following that, I was Assistant Principal at Health and Science School before becoming Principal at Highland Park Middle School. I have a strong passion for both STEAM education, and for the middle school years. I believe in the unlimited potential of each of our students to learn and accomplish greatness.

Outside of school, I enjoy maintaining my physical health through exercise, cooking new dishes (unfortunately none very well!), reading historical fictions or suspense novels, and spending time with my loved ones.

I am very excited to be part of the Highland Community. Together, we will make a positive difference in the lives of all of our students!

I am Oregon grown - a graduate of the Beaverton School District, University of Portland, and Portland State University. For the two years prior to joining Highland Park, I worked as an assistant principal at Stoller Middle School. Prior to that, I taught at the middle school level for over twenty years. I love the middle school years - a time of growth, change, and self discovery. I taught math in three Oregon districts but also taught many other subjects along the way. My path has included coaching, student leadership, AVID leadership, and service learning. I am committed to a high quality education for all students.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, daughter, dog and cat. I love outdoor activities, visiting extended family, trying new things, reading great books, and a large variety of cuisines.

I am so excited to be a part of the Highland Park community! Highland has compassionate teachers, committed parents, and fabulous students. Our mission is to engage, empower, and inspire, and the inspiration is contagious!

I am a native Oregonian. I love the outdoors and spending time with my 5-year-old daughter, Victoria. Though my parents were teachers, I never thought I would grow so passionate about education. To me, the best thing about my job is the feeling that I am making a difference in the lives of students.

After graduating from Pacific University I traveled to Mexico to teach and live for four years. Coming back to the Portland area, I began working in Portland Public and then in Woodburn School District. I am very excited to be joining the team at Highland Park and look forward to opportunities to make a positive impact on the lives of the students and the community!
