If your student will be absent or late to school please do one of the following:
- Call the 24 hour Attendance Line at 503-356-2681
- Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Send a note with the student explaining the absense or reason for being late
Please include the student’s name (please spell the last name), grade, hall, student ID number and reason for the absence or late arrival.
Student Check-in and Checkout
Students arriving late need to check-in at the attendance office before going to class.
If you are unable to schedule appointments outside of the school day and your student will be leaving school early please send a note with your student indicating what time he/she needs to be dismissed from class. Your student should have the note signed in the attendance office and then take it to their teacher during the time of dismissal. Parents should meet their student in the attendance office to sign their student out. Please bring a photo ID with you since only adults on the student’s emergency contact list will be allowed to sign a student out.
Too Sick for School?
Students who become ill while at school should report to the health room. If necessary they can call home. A student can wait in the health room for a short time until they feel well enough to return to class or an authorized contact arrives to pick them up.
The Beaverton School District has a guide, Too Sick for School? (Spanish) that can help parents determine whether or not a sick student should come to school or not. The recommendations are based on the guidelines provided by the Communicable Disease Division of the Washington County Department of Health and Human Services and were developed to help prevent the spread of potentially contagious disease.
Student attendance is critical throughout the year. We ask that you make every effort to help your student establish the habit of arriving on time and attending all classes. When possible please schedule appointments after the school day ends.
