CCC logoVOLUNTEER MENTORPROGRAM
ASPIRE is a mentoring program managed by the Oregon Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) that matches trained and supportive adult volunteer mentors with students to develop a plan to help them meet their education goals beyond high school.

Why ASPIRE?

  • ASPIRE is for all students. Mentors assigned in junior year and follow through until graduation.
  • Mentors help students explore educational and career options beyond high school.
  • Mentors can offer assistance with applications.
  • Mentors encourage students to meet deadlines and explore scholarship and financial aid options.

FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

CCC staff  updates students on college and post-high-school planning information on both the 11th and 12th grade student pages on CANVAS.

Students should download the CANVAS app on their phones to keep apprised of any CCC announcements. Parents can also subscribe to these announcements on CANVAS.

Students are assigned a volunteer mentor in the second semester of their Junior Year and will meet in the College and Career Center at Sunset HS at least 3 times per year throughout their Junior and Senior years.

FOR MENTORS

Please contact CCC volunteer coordinator Jennifer Gordon (gordonjen@comcast.net) if you are interested in being trained as an ASPIRE mentor and interested in making the time commitment to meet with ten students at least three times each semester. Trainings held in the fall and spring each year.
